Boyle Jewelers provides professional jewelry appraisal services for many reasons, but mainly for insurance purposes. While your jewelry is in our possession, it will be insured, safe and secure in our vault.
We’ll provide you with a detailed appraisal document describing your jewelry and its value. This way you are assured of a comparable replacement in case of loss. Appraisals are generally performed on items valued in excess of $500, or items that have unusual sentimental value. They are also valuable when you choose to sell, trade or bequeath your jewelry.
Our professional jewelry appraisals include the following:
- Detailed description of each item
- Enlarged digital photograph of each item printed on the document
- Metal content determination
- Gemstone identification, grading, measurement and weight calculation/estimation
- Verification of Gemological laboratory reports whenever possible
- Fully researched valuation at the appropriate market level
- Identification of designer or manufacture, whenever possible
- Complete professional cleaning and inspection of mounting
- An explanation of value, along with the intent (appropriate use) of the appraisal document
How much will a jewelry appraisal cost?
Written jewelry appraisals for insurance scheduling will generally cost $85.00 for the first item and $50.00 for each additional. If you have 3 or more pieces, please call our office for a price quote. This can vary depending on the detail of the jewelry item. Estimates on detailed items will be quoted at the time they are presented.
